He Is Our Peace
The reign of the Messiah is described in Isaiah 11 as a future time when, the earth will be “full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Isaiah 11:10). This time of peace is symbolized by the lion and lamb living together in peace and safety.
This great passage states of the Messiah: “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:2).
The window symbolizes the reconciliation of all people through the blood of Christ: “For He is our Peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” (Ephesians 3:14).
Pictured also is a flourishing Branch, recalling another prophetic name of Jesus: “I will raise unto David a righteous Branch” (Jer. 23:5) and “In that day shall the Branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious” (Is. 4:2).
Jesus is the center and sovereign of history, Whose coming was prophesied centuries before He came as the Prince of Peace.
This window was given in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Ray Pace.
