GTBA Leadership Meeting
All teachers and directors of our Sunday Bible Study faculty are invited to the Associational Leadership Workshop on Tuesday, August 19, at First Baptist, Groves. The training is based on the theme, Discovery: “A Tool and a Text.” There are classes for teachers and directors of preschool children, grade school children, students, single adults, college and young adults, adults, and general officers. We will leave the church at 6:00 pm. Come and ride the bus with us.
Synchronized Christmas Lights
This Christmas we will have a Christmas light program similar to the presentation shown in the Sanctuary several weeks ago. To prepare for this outreach event, there will be a meeting in the Chapel on Sunday, August 24th at 5:00 pm to enable anyone who is interested to join this effort. There will be several opportunities to help including setting up the displays, helping install the electrical wiring, publicity, hospitality efforts, etc.
Anyone who would like to take part in this event can attend the meeting and get an idea how they will be able to help … there will be an opportunity for you.
Supper Club News
Our Supper Clubs have been going great! You’re meeting and getting to know one another better. During the summer, a church-wide theme of “Launching Out into the Community” can be better realized if our current Supper Clubs will seek out at least one couple that is a prospect for our church. Certainly you may seek more than one or two couples. Find a neighbor, an acquaintance, or someone you work with who is not attending church. Invite them to join your group and to come to PFBC.
Perhaps you are not in a Supper Club. Join now! Sign up on one of the lists in the foyer in the Sanctuary throughout the month of May.
Mommy & Me in the Park
Lauren Buckley has been instrumental in initiating “Mommy and Me - Picnic in the Park” which is usually held the first Tuesday of each month (please check the calendar to make sure the date) from 10:00 a.m. ‘till noon. A parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or other adult guardian can bring children to Pirate Pride Park which is right beside the Vidor Public Library on Bolivar, to fellowship and let the kids play there. She asks that the parent (adult guardian) bring a lunch for both themselves and the child. This event is for anyone. Promotion Day, September 7
We begin our new Sunday Bible Study year in September. We encourage you to find your place in an age appropriate class or department on September 7. Get acquainted with new people…they may be your next “best friend.” Be in Bible study every Sunday! God made us to live healthy, disciplined lives. Come learn with us in First Place. We study to learn to balance our lives spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Join us in this Christ-centered health program. We meet Sundays at 5:00 pm in the Educational Building (Building B) downstairs in room #106 (also known as the "Brides Room") across the hall from the 5th grade classroom.
If you want to be like the woman at the well who tasted the Living Water and ran to tell her friends and neighbors, come and join us as we dive in and splash the Living Water with a devotion, fellowship, and fun designed by women for women. H2H (Heart to Heart) will meet again on our new day, Monday, September 8th, from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Adult 3 department. Mark your calendars now. UPCOMING H2H EVENTS
All adults are invited to Criss-Cross, a Bible study/fellowship time. If you have not joined us for Criss Cross in the past, I assure you we will make you feel welcome. Criss Cross is a “participate in any way you feel led by God” ministry. We will not put you on the spot in any way so join us for FUN, FELLOWSHIP AND PRAYER
TIME, and as always, great food. In September, our meeting will be held Saturday, the 20th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, at a location to be announced.
A new First Place session began Sunday June 1. The Bible study book is LIVING IN GRACE. If you have questions, call Joy Haney at 769-3522.

Baptist Men's Breakfast
The objective of the Men's Ministry at PFBC is to lead men to an intimate relationship with Christ. Programs and events are designed to equip men to become Godly leaders in the home, church, and community. As "iron sharpens iron" (Proverbs 27:17) men sharpen one another in monthly breakfast, small groups and mentoring relationships. Through these events, men of all ages learn to serve God, the church, the community and one another. In today's culture, it is increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and their lives.
Dominos + other Games!
If you don’t have a partner, get one! (you could be the next champions) It’s a whole lot of fun! Also, there are other table games going on with a lot of fun and fellowship ... join us on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Room!

We play open volleyball on Tuesdays and Thursdays and you're invited.
